SZD-51 Junior tricky plane in falling air

I like the polish SZD-51 Junior. A very learner friendly robust little bird. Agile, stable and responsive. But in falling air this thing falls like a rock - like this time. From 180 meters at downwind to 70 meters less in no time. Too low for a standard approach - at least for my taste.

The shot was taken at my glider clug HAC Boberg in Hamburg/Germany. We are one of the biggest glider clubs in Germany. Our 1200 meters x 350 meters field is located right in the control zone/HX Zone of the international airport of Hamburg.
