In this weekly Carp fishing upload, you join me and a friend on a lake close to home for a quick overnighter on Copse lake Chichester, South England. This vlog explains why Winter carp fishing is so tricky, what tackle we use, and what our winter tactics will be in the cold.

Copse Lake is an ideal spot to challenge the expertise of intermediate Carp anglers. Boasting a diverse selection of Commons, Mirrors and other species up to 30lb, this seven-acre oasis offers plenty of opportunities for angling success! With its average depth of 6ft plus deeper spots available, pre-baiting with particles on silt-covered gravel patches can increase your chances - but watch out for swan mussels along the way!

Carp do not feed in the winter month because the water temperature is too cold. This makes winter carp fishing quite tricky, as the fish are not actively feeding and, therefore, more challenging to catch.

Working through the winter months, I try my best to keep positive. Keep my methods consistent, as you can't always blame yourself for these challenging cold sessions.
