Animal welfare has been at the heart of The Body Shop since our birth. We were the first brand to fight animal testing in cosmetics back in 1989 🐰 and we contributed to a UK ban in 1998 and a European Union ban in 2013. Last year with our partners Cruelty Free International we launched the biggest campaign ever to have animal testing abolished everywhere and forever: the #ForeverAgainstAnimalTesting campaign.

Thanks to your overwhelming support, we have gathered more than 8 million signatures representing 8 million voices against animal testing. What’s next? Today on World Animal Day, we are at the UN headquarters to have the abolition of animal testing in cosmetics registered in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
