Yugoslavia's ambassador to Russia, Borislav Milosevic, on Friday sharply criticised the decision of the U- N International tribunal for former Yugoslavia for its indictment of Yugoslav leaders.

His brother Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic is among those indicted on war crimes charges including murder and expulsions carried out in Kosovo.

It is the first time a sitting head of state has been charged with such atrocities by an international court.

Yugoslavia's ambassador to Russia, Borislav Milosevic, spoke to reporters in Moscow on Friday.

He gave his reaction to the indictment of his brother Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic and four others - President of Serbia Milan Milutinovic, deputy prime minister of Yugoslavia Nikola Sainovic, chief of general staff of the Yugoslav army Dragoljub Ojdanic and Vlajko Stojiljkovic, the minister of internal affairs of Serbia.

"It is a kind of circus. I mean, what is this tribunal? A lot of people are mixing it up with Hague tribunal. Yugoslav war tribunal was created in 1993 to deal with crimes committed in former Yugoslavia. It was clear from the start such a tribunal in fact has no relation with justice and law, it's just a tool."

The U-N-established court, set up in 1993 to investigate crimes committed after the breakup of the former Yugoslavia, found it had sufficient evidence to charge the Yugoslav president and four top aides of crimes against humanity.
