"1. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath alleged that a vote given to the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections would only strengthen terrorism, naxalism and separatist forces and obstruct development. Likewise, votes given to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in Telangana would strengthen the hands of Asaduddin Owasi, heading the party’s ally AIMIM and his brother. Addressing a public meeting Adityanath termed both the Congress and TRS as ‘anti-nationals.’ He alleged that both parties were supporting activities which are dangerous’ to national security.
2. The Congress today launched its campaign slogan for Lok Sabha polls, ‘Ab Hoga Nyay’, asserting that there was an atmosphere of ‘anyay’ or injustice prevailing in the country. The theme song has been penned by Javed Akhtar and the campaign video has been filmed by Nikhil Advani, he said.
3. Bahujan Samaj Party President Mayawati on Sunday criticised both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress. Mayawati said that the BJP will not come to power, unless it rigs the election process. She added that the ruling government was “misusing the Pulwama attack” for votes. Mayawati also added that the Congress, despite ruling for several years, has failed.
4. The ban on the movement of civilian vehicles on the Jammu-Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway for two days a week came into force today. The state government had announced the ban on April 4 to facilitate the movement of security personnel during the Lok Sabha elections. Civilian traffic will be banned from 4 am to 5 pm on Sundays and Wednesdays till May 31. The restriction will apply for traffic moving between Baramulla and Udhampur.
5. In a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday “speed-breaker Didi” has applied brakes on several central schemes, denying people of the benefits available in other parts of the country.
Addressing a rally, he accused the chief minister of “allying with those who want to divide the nation and propagate the idea of two prime ministers” in the country.
