The robotic testing system roboTest N can be used to perform four different automated tests. The materials testing machine must be retrofitted for each test.

Tensile Test
For the tensile test, the specimen gripper removes the plastic specimen from the magazine. The specimen width and thickness are measured in the cross-section measuring device. The tensile test is then carried out. The specimen remains are also removed by the specimen gripper.

Block Shear Test
The block shear specimens are placed in a magazine. The robot removes a specimen and transports it to the testing machine, which carries out the block shear test automatically.

Lap Shear Test
The shear specimens are removed from the magazine by the robot and transported to the testing machine. Special specimen grips for shear tests grip the specimen. During the test, the strength of the adhesive bond between two substrates is tested. After the test, both fracture surfaces are photographed, and the specimen is disposed of.

Compression Test
The robot transports the cylindrical plastic specimen to the compression platens. After the compression test, the tested specimen is removed from the compression platens using compressed air.

Manual tests can be performed at any time by moving the robot away from the machine.
