Norscot Caterpillar D8R Series II vs. Diecast Masters D8R Series II Track-Type Tractors (Bulldozers)

First released by Norscot in 2002, the Cat D8R Series Bulldozer in 1:50 scale was not well received by most collectors, myself included. The limited functionality and rubber tracks made the model a candidate for the fabulous flop file. Despite this, the model remained in the Norscot line-up until the license was lost to Diecast Masters in 2015. When Diecast Masters announced they were going to update the D8R, I had high hopes that at least, the blade would have better moment and the metal tracks would make the machine a much higher quality model. Unfortunately, the lack of functionally remains, and hurts this model significantly. Overall, these models achieve a low score of 3/10 on the Diecast Emporium Rating Matrix.
