the Secunderabad Zone Police, under the direct supervision of DCP Rakshitha Krishna Murthy, IPS, has executed a massive coordinated raid across multiple divisions. This operation successfully neutralized a major supply chain of prohibited synthetic nylon thread, popularly known as "Chinese Manja."

📌 MISSION SUMMARY: In compliance with the Telangana State Government G.O.MS.No.6, the Hyderabad City Police has maintained a zero-tolerance policy against non-biodegradable, glass-coated threads.

Suspects Apprehended: 12 (Suppliers & Sellers)

Contraband Seized: 162 Bobbins of High-Hazard Chinese Manja

Estimated Value: ₹1,88,000/-

Legal Action: Cases booked under BNS Sections 223, 125 and Sections 5 & 15 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.

📍 DIVISION-WISE OPERATIONAL DETAILS:
1. CHIKKADPALLY DIVISION (Kachiguda PS)
Case Ref: Cr. No. 19/2026 The Kachiguda Police received pinpoint intelligence regarding illegal sales in the Mothi Market area.

The Raid: A team led by DI M. Mallesham and SI H. Naresh apprehended Nomula Santosh Kumar and Nomula Pushpa.

The Supplier: Following a confession, the team raided a hideout in Dhoolpet and arrested Lalith Singh, a repeat offender with a history of NDPS cases.

The Source: Investigation revealed the stock was procured from Lal Kuan, Old Delhi, two months in advance to bypass seasonal checks.

Seized: 106 Bobbins (Value: ₹1,06,000/-)

2. GANDHI NAGAR DIVISION (Domalguda PS)
Case Ref: Cr. No. 07/2026 While on high-vigilance patrolling near NTR Stadium, WSI Vijaya and her team intercepted a group of individuals selling banned threads to young customers.

Modus Operandi: The accused, mostly students, were lured by "easy money" and commissions to act as street-level retailers for larger suppliers in Dhoolpet.

Seized: 08 Bobbins (Value: ₹10,000/-)

3. OSMANIA UNIVERSITY DIVISION (Amberpet PS)
Case Ref: Cr. No. 31/2026 A targeted search in the Jummerath Bazaar and Devinagar areas led to the arrest of K. Sunil Kumar.

Seized: 48 Bobbins (Value: ₹72,000/-)

⚠️ WHY IS CHINESE MANJA BANNED?
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Secunderabad Zone, wishes to remind the public of the severe risks:

Fatal for Commuters: These threads act as invisible blades, causing life-threatening throat and limb injuries to two-wheeler riders.

Environmental Disaster: Being synthetic (nylon), these threads never decompose, remaining entangled in trees and power lines for years.

Avian Mortality: Every year, thousands of birds, including endangered species, suffer agonizing deaths due to these glass-coated threads.

This successful crackdown was made possible through the coordinated efforts of:

Supervision: Sri J. Narsaiah (Addl. DCP, Secunderabad Zone), Sri L. Ramesh (ACP Chikkadpally), and Sri A. Yadagiri (ACP Gandhi Nagar).

Field Execution: Smt. T. Jyothsna (SHO Kachiguda), Sri Mohd Amjad Ali (SHO Domalguda), and specialized crime teams.
