Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has claimed that non-Muslims will be more adversely affected by the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) than Muslims. He alleged that the UCC is being used as a tool to erase the identities of Muslims in India.

"Everyone says that Muslims will be taught a lesson through the UCC," Owaisi said. "But this common law is not good for the entire country. If the UCC is implemented, it will be Hindus who will suffer more than Muslims. This is being done to erase our identities in the country."

The UCC is a proposal to formulate and implement personal laws that will apply uniformly to all citizens regardless of their religion, gender, and sexual orientation. The code comes under Article 44 of the Constitution, which stipulates that the state shall endeavor to secure a Uniform Civil Code for the citizens throughout the territory of India.

The BJP had promised to implement the UCC in its 2019 Lok Sabha election manifesto. However, the party has not yet taken any concrete steps towards its implementation.

Owaisi's comments come at a time when there is a growing debate in India about the need for the UCC. Some people believe that the UCC is necessary to ensure equality among all citizens, while others argue that it would be a violation of religious freedom.

It remains to be seen whether the UCC will be implemented in India. However, Owaisi's comments suggest that the issue is likely to continue to be debated for some time to come
