Markets saw a surge in volatility this week after an unexpectedly strong US GDP report. Precious metals saw sharp drops in prices, with gold down 3.1% and silver down 5.1%. The strong momentum in platinum and palladium was interrupted as they dropped 8.7% and 7.5% respectively. Following the federal reserve opting to forgo rate cuts, the U.S. dollar spiked 2.8% and nearly broke through 100. Despite the pullbacks seen in precious metals, gold remains bullish at a fundamental level based on a global push to increase gold reserves.
