55+ Communities in Florida. My suggested 55+ communities, and retirement area in general. So, yes I’m a little biased saying this, but south of Tampa (South Tampa Bay) is the best place to live in Florida. Over 55 or not. South Hillsborough county and Manatee county is an awesome location and close to anywhere you would want to be. Something for everybody. Here are 2 of my favorite communities if you're looking for a lock and leave home, or somewhere to retire in this area. I challenge anybody moving to Florida to pick a better area taking into consideration value, location and things going on around you. Affordable living with a ton of things to do and places to go around you.
