We’ve put a twist on Reading Comprehension by incorporating a Foldable Craft! No "drill and kill" here!

The students will read the informational text entitled “The Story of Halloween”. The reading is followed by a comprehension assessment consisting of 8 multiple choice questions (that reflect the Common Core Standards), and a short response question that requires text based evidence. The multiple choice answers are recorded on the Answer Sheet provided and the short response is recorded on our Vampire Craftivity/Foldable template.

Next?....the real fun begins!…Students will color, cut and fold their way to adorable Halloween Vampires that can be displayed around your classroom or used for a spooktacular Halloween bulletin board.

The passage is perfect for close read practice. All paragraphs are numbered for questions that require the student to "look back" and analyze a particular aspect of the text.
