June 18, 2021 went down in history as the first time formerly imprisoned women met in a centralized place to share their experiences, motivated one another and got ideas on how to breakthrough, reintegrate and rebuild their lives and that of their children.
At the event were members of the Coalition of Formerly Imprisoned Women-Africa, Clean Start CEO and Founder Teresa Njoroge, Clean Start Chair of the Board, Dr Patricia Murugami, and Clean Start Board Advisor Helen De Vane.
The day's moderator was Valentine Njoroge.

Join Clean Start in giving formerly imprisoned women, girls and children accompanying their mothers to prison a second chance.
You can help by providing mentorship and apprenticeships, counselling and psycho-social support, capacity building, and advocating for a criminal justice system that rehabilitates imprisoned women rather than breaking them down.
You can donate dry foodstuff, dignity pack items for women and girls and children which include - Sanitary towels, Diapers, Bar Soap, Tooth Brushes & Tooth Paste, Vaseline and clothes.
You can also sponsor a woman going through Clean Start’s Circles of Healing program at KSh.12, 000 ($120)
Support a child living in prison with the mother at KSh. 1,200 ($12) for three months.
Support a girl through school KSh. 25,000 ($250) per year.
Support the Formerly Imprisoned Women with capital to run their businesses so anyone who would like to contribute to these would consider sending the cash.
