In this short video we show you an example of water overflowing the gutter end cap. When this happens the water seems to go right over or even through the end cap every time it rains. The reason this is happening is because the gutter is tilted or "pitched" the wrong way. Water is always supposed to freely flow towards the downspout. This is because water can not flow up hill. To fix this problem the gutter will need to be re-pitched towards the downspout. We would use a level in this situation to ensure the proper angle is set. Also, since some water is actually leaking through the end cap seams in this video, the end cap will need to be re-sealed with caulk to prevent any more water from leaking through. Anytime we re-seal an end cap we scrape all existing caulk away and completely dry the surface before applying the new seal.
