N O R U M...!!! Great live album with one of my favorite Scandinavian singers: Leif Sundin, the man with the silvery, hoarse voice. A regular guest vocalist on Norum's albums, he can also be heard on MSG's Written in the sand and - albeit in a more singer/songwriter vein - on his solo outing 'House of leaf'. Check him out.

Also one of my favorite guitar tones : John's white '65 Strat with Dimarzio FS-1 pups. I can get real close to his sound with my olympic white Custom Shop Strat which has an original 80's FS-1 in the neck position and a more recent FS-1 in the bridge. Add a TS + a plexi and...it's tone heaven !!

The solo starts off with a C#m Phrygian riff going up a third to E Phrygian dominant (with those growling major third chords) where John starts off the proceedings with an E dominant pentatonic melody segueing into the main solo in Bm which is ornamented with bluesy bends and fast pentatonic runs.Then it's back to the chorus in F#m, a modulation which Norum sets up nicely with the final lick of his solo. Great stuff!
