In this video, I will show you how to use GitHub as a free CDN.

There is a new web app called Gaac that lets you use GitHub as a free CDN. After you connect it to your GitHub account, it starts treating it as a CDN storage to store static files such as javascript, css, and images.

Getting started with it is very simple.

Go to the homepage of this website and then sign up using your GitHub account. Allow access and then you will see your GitHub username on the dashboard.

Next, you need to connect a GitHub repository to store files.

Click to give it access to a repository that you can select from a list. Then come back to the dashboard and refresh. It will now show you name of the configured repository.

To upload something to the new CDN that you have created, upload the files on the interface of the Gaac.

After uploading the file, it will leave the link on the clipboard. Paste that in a new tab to see the final image or java script file.

You can see all the uploaded files in the Upload section. Here, you can see preview of the images or other files and search them as well.

That’s how you can use GitHub as a CDN for free.
