Greek national goalkeeper and goalkeeper for the Portuguese record champions Benfica Lisbon. For our latest Ausherzspiel documentary, we accompanied Stuttgart-born Odysseas Vlachodimos for 5 days through his everyday life in the Portuguese capital. We got a feel for what it means to be an active professional footballer. Apart from the obvious advantages of turning his hobby into a profession, it means one thing above all: privations in his private life and constant pressure to perform. His small family gives him support during these challenges in his life as a professional and together with his wife Elena and daughter Amelia he forms a strong team.

Ody's career path as a supposedly failed young professional at VfB Stuttgart led him via Panathinaikos Athens to S.L Benfica. Here he quickly established himself as first teams keeper for the Portuguese record champions and has attracted attention almost away from the German public with strong performances in this Champions League season.

An intense documentary about a down-to-earth goalkeeper and family man who gives us rare insights into his private life alongside his professional career.
