For those wondering what was going on after I had put all the switches in (about 1 hr 50 min in), some switches weren't working because the thinner switch pin was being pushed into the housing by the socket (it's a switch pin tolerance issue, not user error or an issue with the hotswap socket), so I tinned the thin leg a little bit (with solder, ironic) so they'd stay put and then reseated the switch. Another option is that you can always just replace the bottom housing(s) of the problematic switch(es). Typing around 2:33:23. Keyboard specs and links below.
