FMS PA 18 1300 mm Unbox, Assemble, Fly

This video will cover the unbox, assembly and flight of the FMS PA-18 1300 mm (51") wingspan RC model airplane.

The PA-18 comes as a "plug and play" RC model aircraft. All you really need to do is to assemble the aircraft by connecting two fuselage halves, screw in place the assembled landing gear, screw in place the wings and tail surfaces and connect the servos to your receiver. Everything else is in place to include the mounted electric motor and the electronic speed control. Note also the PA-18 comes with 6 servos (rudder, elevator, two ailerons and two flaps.

For the plug and play version you will need to add your own six channel receiver, a 3 cell lipo battery and a transmitter.

I put together my PA-18 over the course of two hours in one afternoon, and text flew the next morning.

I was very pleased with the quality of the FMS PA-18 kit. Everything fit together well, the aircraft is sturdy but light and all the control surfaces mounted right at the neutral position. Total weight with battery was just under three pounds.

The PA-18 maiden flight went off perfectly. The model tracked straight down the runway and was very comfortable to fly and land. This truly is a perfect model for a beginner pilot and someone looking for a relaxing Sunday flyer.
