The ultra-smart 'n' sexy 5-CD box set charting the history of glam is released by Universal Music Catalogue on October 28th.

'Oh Yes We Can Love' tells the story of the genre's multiple origins in flamboyant rock 'n' roll, gritty blues and boundary-defying '60s miscreants from Iggy to The Velvets and The Kinks. It dwells heavily on the '70s golden age when Marc Bolan, Slade, Sweet, T.Rex, Suzi Quatro, Sparks and more made glam THE dominant pop format in Britain. From there we look at the influence of glam on the new generation of punks and post-punks, from Blondie to Adam Ant, and then through the '90s via Morrissey, Pulp and many more. Kicking off with Noel Coward's louche pre-War foppishness, the collection closes with the modern era with the electro-thud of Goldfrapp and glam's new pretenders like The Ark and Foxy Shazam.

The lavishly packaged box also features a 100-page booklet full of rare single sleeves, glam factz and a brand new essay by Barney Hoskyns, co-founder and editorial director of online music-journalism directory Rock's Backpages and author of the acclaimed 'Glam!, Bowie, Bolan and the Glitter Rock Revolution'.
