If the decision to withdraw the bond facility for imports of 10 to 30 count yarn is not implemented within this month, all the yarn mills in the country will be closed from February. BTMA, which made this announcement, argues that even if the bond facility is withdrawn, there will be no harm to the ready-made garment industry as there will be duty drawback. However, BGMEA claims that if this recommendation is implemented, the garment industry will face destruction. In this situation, economists are advised to take a final decision keeping the overall economic interests of the country in mind.
