She sat on the kitchen shelf, polished and shiny.
But she had a permanent frown.
Her spout was droopy.
Her handle was stiff.
Whenever someone tried to pour from her,
she would dribble and spill.
"What a grumpy teapot," they'd say.
Tilly didn't mean to be grumpy.
She was just full of old, cold, forgotten tea.
She felt heavy and stale.
One day, a kind little girl named Lily saw her.
Lily didn't see a grumpy teapot.
She saw a beautiful teapot that looked sad.
Lily carefully took Tilly off the shelf.
She gave Tilly a gentle wash with warm, soapy water.
She rinsed her out until she sparkled.
Then, Lily filled Tilly with hot water and a fragrant mint tea bag.
Tilly felt the warmth spread through her spout.
The sweet smell of mint made her feel... happy.
Her spout didn't feel so droopy anymore.
Lily's mom poured a cup.
The tea flowed out perfectly, without a single spill.
Tilly the Teapot wasn't grumpy anymore.
She was full of warmth and happiness.
