The first filming for 2009 begins on the South Devon Railway, were the first train services on the line were hauled by British Railways first generation DMU 'Bubble car' Class 122 W55000. Filmed on the most scenic spots on the line. The weather wasn't as good as predicted as it had rained for most of the day.

This Single multiple unit was built by the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company in 1958, and spent much of its working life in the West Country on rural branchlines such as the Exeter to Exmouth branch (which I recall seeing during the early 90's) Withdrawn in 1993 after 35 years of BR ownership. This loco is now part of the South Devon Railway diesel fleet.

W55000 carries the Regional Railways livery which it carried during the late 80's and early 90's and is the only and last diesel to carry the Regional Railways livery, as it is soon to be in BR green livery. So this is probally the last chapter of Regional Railways history.
