Global Affairs Canada confirmed the couple’s passing and said it is providing consular assistance to family members during the ongoing process. Relatives are struggling to understand the sudden and unexpected nature of the situation, emphasizing the couple’s deep bond and plans to eventually retire in the Dominican Republic. While the cause has not yet been publicly shared, family members have stated there are no indications of criminal involvement, and authorities are awaiting autopsy findings, which could take weeks due to holiday delays.
