How You Determine The Molar Mass Of A Compound

Описание к видео How You Determine The Molar Mass Of A Compound

Dr. Bedard(Ph.D.) explains how you determine the molar mass of a compound. To determine the molar mass of a compound, you add up the atomic masses of all the atoms in the compound, taking into account the number of each type of atom present.

First you identify the chemical formula of the compound to determine the types and numbers of elements present in the compound. Next, look up the atomic masses by consulting the periodic table.

The atomic mass is the number with decimals by element of interest….
Lastly, multiply the atomic mass of each element by the number of atoms present and add up the masses. This total gives the molar mass of the compound in grams per mole (g/mol).
