Stopping the Nation - Kieren Perkins

Описание к видео Stopping the Nation - Kieren Perkins

This is the remarkable story of Australian Olympic champion Kieren Perkins - the king. "King" Kieren Perkins dominated middle/distance swimming in the early-mid 1990s. His 1500m world record (in a pair of speedos) of 14:41.66 was thought untouchable and his world record swim in the 400 fs at the 1994 Rome World Championships is considered one of the greatest swims of all time.

Yet leading into the 1996 Atlanta Olympic games, the defending champion in the 1500m fs was battling injury, illness and poor form. He barely made the Australian team and made the Olympic final by the smallest of margins....the rest is history.

This is the story of PSYCHOLOGY trumping PHYSIOLOGY. Mind over matter.
