Pakistan's First Anti Rape Crises Cell Launch

As part of UN Women’s Tahaffuz program, funded by US Embassy Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement, Pakistan’s first Anti-Rape Crisis Cell (ARCC) as mandated under the Anti-Rape (Investigation and Trial) Act 2021 was launched at Karachi Police Surgeon’s Office on August 4, 2023. The crisis cell provides all essential facilities — medical and psychological support, evidence collection and preservation, forensic analysis of the evidence, assistance in registration of FIRs, and legal aid — under one roof to survivors of sexual violence.
