This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Ian Wilson discusses Wall\Therapy, an international art project that brings graffiti artists from all over the planet to beautify our city. But, W\T has another purpose: to draw attention to the impressive radiology technology Ian invented to help developing nations care for their population.

A Brooklyn native, Ian is the founder and curator of the WALL\THERAPY mural project. A 1999 graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Wilson is an Assistant Professor of Imaging Sciences and a practicing interventional radiologist. Dr. Wilson is also the co-founder of The Synthesis Collaborative, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit which endeavors to improve the health of communities in the developing world using the tools of teleradiology and cloud computing. As an erstwhile graffiti writer, Wilson supports street art by producing events, such as WALL\THERAPY. The Synthesis Collaborative endeavors to couple street art to its medical philanthropic initiatives with imagery as the common thread.
