Ford V8 Pilot - chocks away in the flathead V8

Описание к видео Ford V8 Pilot - chocks away in the flathead V8

For the Ford V8 Pilot's second proper test drive we head over to Sleap airfield, a former WW2 airfield, to see what was going on. The idea was to give this 1950s classic car a longer drive out to see how it behaved once fully warmed up, and as the weather was so nice I didn't need much persuading.
Before firing up the Pilot's 3.6 Litre V8 flathead (sidevalve) engine I have a quick talk about several items of memorabilia relating to classic cars that had turned up over the previous couple of days.
After our drive out and look around at the aircraft over at Sleap, we head home and - as the weather was still fantastic - we awaken the 4CV and take that for a quick blast just to keep everything working and free. It couldn't be more different to drive, despite being of a similar age(ish).
The jury's still out on the V8 Pilot's lofty wing mirrors, although the comments added to the previous video show a strong leaning towards losing those mirrors and sticking just with those already mounted on the doors.
Thanks for looking in, please take a look around the rest of the channel, and the other videos about the Ford V8 Pilot that are on here (I'll set up a playlist grouping them all together). The sound of the V8 Ford's engine - which can trace its roots back to the 1930s - is a joy to listen to, its (in)ability to start when cold is less of a pleasure so that'll be one of the first jobs I think I'll look into more closely.
