The Nawab visits the king and wonders why he had not been told about the new watermelons and other fruits growing in the kingdom. He was told that it was a new idea by Gopal. The minister takes this opportunity to tell the Nawab that Gopal plotted against the Nawab and that is why he did not want to tell the Nawab. To get their revenge, the Nawab invites Gopal and the king to his own kingdom. He threatens the king that he would have to pay more tax or else have to give up his kingdom. The Nawab expresses his desire to take over the kingdom of Krishnanagar and thinks of ways to thwart Gopal's intelligence. The Nawab sends a letter to the Rajya Sabha stating that he would be visiting. This makes the king very nervous, and makes Gopal suspicious of the Nawab's intentions. The queen appeals to Gopal for help, seeing that the Nawab is trying to drive them away from the kingdom. Gopal hatches a genius plan to deal with the situation.

Stories about his exploits are narrated in Bengal to this day and are immortalized in countless short stories. The stories are short, beautiful, humorous, and have a specific social message. Gopal Bhar is famous for stories of his wisdom, in which he outwits other fellow courtiers.
