Continuous Welded Rail Train Departs Rugby

CN 5638, and CN 2204 lead a loaded rail train north, up the CN Waukesha Subdivision. This was filmed on Scenic Road, in Polk, WI. I was further north than usual, and I checked ATCS to see if anything was going beyond. I saw a meet set at Rugby, 1 NB meeting 2 SB's. Rugby Siding is pretty short. It's only 7700 FT. There's a crossing in between, though, so you only get 6000ish FT of siding to use. Most trains are longer than that, so they barely meet here. The first SB came, and then the NB showed up. I walked across the tracks to see what it was, and immediately knew it was something maintenance related. Due to the angle I was looking at it, I couldn't see the load. I thought it was a ballast train. SB 2 rolled by, and then this one got lined out. I knew that the power was a sweet duo, and hearing them notch up was pretty neat. The gates turned on and the train rolled across. Leading was an old SD75, followed by a C44-9W in the 22xx number range. There's only 5 of these, and they're pretty neat to see. What was more impressive than this awesome duo was the load, a loaded rail train! I have never seen one in person before, but it was awesome to see. Had I known it was a rail train, I would've got it at a crossing that's more open. It was still very cool to see one these trains. I like maintenance trains, and this was certainly a good one!
