Join me on an epic 50-hour adventure in the ancient, 1000-year-old Abbots Woods, Sussex, where I take on the challenge of building a survival shelter from scratch. From foraging for materials, gathering wood, and starting a fire in the rain, to wild camping in the heart of nature, this journey covers it all. Watch as I navigate winter conditions, while creating a shelter that can withstand the elements. Along the way, I’ll share bushcraft tips, how to build a bed from natural materials, and what it’s like to camp in the rain. This is more than just survival – it's living in harmony with nature in one of the oldest woodlands in the UK.
A hatchet, some paracord, knife auger bit and saw handle most of the leg work for me.

Whether you're into wild camping, bushcraft, or just curious about outdoor adventures, this video offers a full experience of what it takes to thrive in the wilderness.

Saw- This thing was an absolute beast!! outstanding value for money i will say. I brought it bearing in mind that it might fail me and snap or at least go blunt. i sawed to the point where my right arm was twice the size of my left and no, my arms aren't like that from spending too much time on my own in a hot bath. It was my most used tool on this trip and i think i would have had a really hard time without it. so for that, would totally recommend. get it!

Auger bit- I've had these previous and they are definitely one of those things with a wide false economy. splash out that little extra and get one that will survive more than a single use. i PROMISE, any bit cheaper than this will sh*t itself after on use, if that. it guided and started the bore painlessly and the eye is well welded (poet) to the bit its self. Would bang.

knife- Meh. its cheap, its sturdy. if you want one then yeah, get it but meh. took me over an hour to sharpen on a whet stone and strop. i very much brought it as i needed on for this trip and the bad boy i've got my eye on is spenny and i'm remarkably poor.

Camping Matt- oh boy oh boy oh boy. This is in almost all of my videos. a sleeping bag is useless if your not off of the ground. this does that. it does it well. i really thought it might puncture after this trip but no chance. once its inflated, it very much stays inflated, for days. Unlike those hefty things that were oh so popular in the 90's. the future is now my friends and this sleeping mat is it. no need to carry a pump. its light as a feather and probably the easiest thing in my whole kit to pack back down. Love is not a strong enough word to describe my feelings for this

Alcohol burner- you saw the video. this little thing has been a miracle in a bag. the fuel is cheap, burns so well. I've had it for more than a year, its been submerged in water a handful of times and not a spec of rust has appeared. get it, use it, don't worry about it. its got you'r back

Cook set- i grow more and more sentimental to this set with every use. i put it straight into fires on the regular, none of the plastic has melted. after every trip, i give them a scrub and hey presto. good as new. simple, store well, light weight. An all round good time.

Para cord- it's pretty with colours
