On this day in 1965, South Korean troops were sent to Saigon. Here is a British Movietone report featuring the first colour pictures to be released of the Vietnam War.

Movietone released the first colour pictures of the War in Vietnam. Colour gives conflict a new dimension - a stark reality to a war we've only seen before in black and white. Bombing raids in North Vietnam are followed by a graphic record of a mission into the Plain of Reeds by the three British Hovercraft, serving with the South Vietnamese Forces.
