Today, let's craft a bird goddess mask and chat! 🐦

After posting my video on snake symbolism and how it relates to my practice, I knew there had to be a video devoted to the bird goddess. 🐍

"Bird Goddess" is a term formulated by Marija Gimbutas after her digs conducted in Europe. Doing some research into her archaeology texts, I began asking myself some questions...
"Why the bird?" 🦅
"Why the breasts?" 😵
"Does this mean these civilizations worshiped a female god?" ✨

I looked to the symbolism in general terms. Could the bird have been revered because of it's ability to fly? Is there sacred "heaven" symbolism hidden here? What about sacred freedom?

In my practice the bird is D) ALL THE ABOVE. Along with other sacred animals, I found having animals that represented something SPIRITUAL greatly impacts my practice. I can look to these animals as archetypes!
