Good morning everyone! Today I’m doing a real-world 130 km/h range test with the Volkswagen ID. Buzz Long Wheelbase (RWD) equipped with the 86 kWh battery and the 210 kW rear motor.

I charged the car to 100% at home, preheated the cabin and the battery, and arrived at the charger with a warm pack. After fixing my own mistake with Battery Care Mode (yes… idiot moment 🤦), I topped it up and started the test.

We drive at GPS-true 130 km/h, with:
✔️ Heat pump
✔️ 20” winter tires (235 front / 255 rear)
✔️ Cabin at 23°C
✔️ Seat heater on
✔️ No unnecessary heating in the rear

During the test, I document:
🔋 Consumption at different SOC levels
🚗 Realistic range at 130 km/h
🌡️ Battery temperature and efficiency
⚡ Charging performance up to 80%
🌧️ Influence of temperature (1–2°C) & wet roads

At the end I calculate the real-world highway range and compare it to all other EVs in my spreadsheet.
