Flexible crush protection devices (CPDs) like the QuadGuard are revolutionary in quad bike safety.

Why? Because they can flex around the rider in the event of a rollover, which can help take a lot of the force out the impact, as well as help transfer the weight on the quad off the rider.

Currently, a new quad bike straight from the manufacturer doesn't have a CPD, and if it rolls there is very little space under it, which can cause the rider to be crushed to death if they get trapped under it.

So by fitting a 'roll bar' or also known as an OPD or CPD (Operator Protection Device or Crush Protection Device) this helps create a larger 'safety triangle' of space if the quad rolls upside down. And if the CPD if flexible, then if the CPD itself hits the rider, it is less likely to inflict injury like what a traditional steel roll bar could do.
