The ideal morning routine is comprised of a good night's sleep, rising early to get enough sunlight and exercise. Sleep is needed to recharge the body. When we stay up late at night, it disturbs the circadian rhythm and pushes back the cortisol peak we experience in the morning when we wake up. Circadian rhythm is what controls our body's behaviour based on external conditions. Sleep is how the clocks align together. Getting sunshine is known to ease us into wakefulness with a cortisol spike. It also elevates our mood by increasing dopamine, testosterone and estrogen levels. Exercise reduces the adenosine levels to wake the body up in the morning, besides keeping the body fit. A good life does not just mean being wealthy. It means being whole in every area of our lives and it begins with an ideal morning routine.
