Okra is an important vegetable crop of Punjab. Under the scenario of changing climate, planting of okra may be initiated from 10 th of February in south Punjab to 20 th of February in the central Punjab. Green beauty of Haji sons, Super green of National Seeds Gujranwala, Adventa 803 of ICI, OH 2324 of Syngenta, No 333 of Hope seeds and wonder green of Siddique sons Faisalabad are considered as the best varieties. Sabz Pri ,the OP variety is only planted by the small farmers.
Selection of variety is one of the major factors on which production of crop depends upon. There are several conventional and hybrid varieties of Okra available in the market. To choose the best one to cultivate is a major decision for getting better production of okra. Production technology of Okra is now dependent on the selection of best variety.
