I have been waiting 3 1/2 months to
OFFICIALLY become Muslim by taking my shahada! At first I wanted to read the Quran and learn more before committing and becoming Muslim. This week I decided I was ready and didn’t want to wait any longer!
There are the prayers, the rules, the regulations, the language, the culture, the disciplines to master, the 1400 years of scholarship to study so you don’t have to be perfect when you enter Islam. People born into Islam even at 40 years old are still learning. You just have to know your testimony and firmly believe it. Growing up I had a lot of anxiety and depression and even PTSD from trauma, but medicine wouldn’t help at all. I’ve been in therapy healing but !
PROMISE when I tell you, when i listen to the Quran in Arabic, peace overcomes me and everything negative goes away, I feel like it heals me.That’s really what got me is the fact that Islam is my peace after suffering for 12 years. It’s the reason I love myself more than ever. I’m still changing and evolving every day but lemme tell you this is my fav chapter of my life and Allah is everything to me.
