In 'Star Trek: Discovery' episode "Choose Your Pain," disgraced former Starfleet officer Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) enlists the aid of Dr. Hugh Culber (Wilson Cruz) to convince his testy partner Lt. Paul Stamets (Anthony Rapp) to stop using the alien tardigrade to navigate the ship's new technology, which is killing the creature. Stamets turns the blame around.
