EDITED TRANSCRIPT:

A damning report into Russian interference in the British political system was published on Tuesday. The report was 9 months late as the government kept suppressing its release… and you can see why. Successive Conservative Governments have failed to act on intelligence that Russia has interfered and tried to influence British politics, going back to The Scottish Independence Referendum in 2014
The Intelligence and Security Committee said Russian influence in the UK was now "the new normal" and that the UK is the third top target of Russia after NATO and the US. Government ministers have said there is no evidence of this, but that is because there has been no investigation! Which the government should have called for. So whose fault is that?
It also emerged that 14 Tory ministers and two members of the Committee, had taken money from figures linked to Russia. This includes Northern Ireland secretary Brandon Lewis (£48,000), Chancellor Rishi Sunak, Business Secretary Alok Sharma and Justice Secretary Robert Buckland. This isn’t illegal as the donors are British citizens. But the fact it isn’t illegal, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be. The whole funding of political parties in the UK needs major reform!

A coronavirus vaccine that triggers an immune response has been developed at the University of Oxford. Trials involving just over 1,000 people showed the injection led to them making antibodies that can fight the virus.

A legal bid to protect the NHS in a future trade deal with the US was voted down in the House of Commons on Monday night.
Labour put forward an amendment to the Trade Bill which would have banned any deal that undermined the ability "to maintain the quality and safety of health or care services".
But Tory MPs voted the amendment down - along with a separate Labour bid to keep "chlorine-washed" chicken and other poor-quality US foods out of the UK.
Tory ministers insisted the amendments were not needed - as they've repeatedly said no element of the NHS will be up for grabs in a future trade deal, and standards will not be lowered.
Which begs the question, if you have no intention of doing these deals, then why not make it legally binding???

Labour has issued an unreserved apology in the High Court for making "false and defamatory" comments about seven whistleblowers who spoke out in a BBC Panorama programme last year. The party has also agreed to pay "substantial" damages to them

These are just any job cuts, these are M&S job cuts. And like their prices, the figure is high. Around the 950 mark actually. This comes after John Lewis and Boots have also said that they will have store closures and job cuts as well. What does this mean for UK high Streets? Will they survive?
It’s not just the retailers though. Dyson is to shed 900 jobs, 600 of which are in the UK.These are worrying times and you wonder just how bad it will get once the furlough scheme finishes.

Bolton based firm AO has offered a bonus scheme to staff, which could see workers pocket the equivalent of one years salary in a lump sum. That’s if share price targets are hit by 2025.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is suing YouTube for allegedly allowing scammers to use images and videos of him. Similar to the Twitter hack of last week, victims were asked to send cryptocurrency, claiming they would receive double the amount in return.

Guitar sales have soared throughout lockdown. Which means an increase in annoying, insufferable people at house parties!

West Brom joined Leeds United in gaining automatic promotion to the Premier League this week. One more place is up for grabs in the play-offs between Brentford, Fulham. Cardiff and Swansea. We already know Norwich are going in the opposite direction, but the other two will be decided today, between Bournemouth, Watford and Villa. It was announced on Friday that the new Premier League season will start on 12th September.

And sticking with Barry Hearn sports, the Snooker World Championships begins on 31st July and it’s going to be a test event to ease live audiences back into sport, along with Glorious Goodwood and two County cricket matches.
