In Europe: Georgia Pushes for Anti-LGBT Constitutional Law

🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🇬🇪 On March 25th , the leader of the Georgian parliamentary majority, announced the initiation of adding a new paragraph to the Georgian Constitution, under “the protection of family values and minors”.
According to the suggested laws, the new addition would re-define the rights of marriage and the rights of a mother and a child. Those rights will be ensured by the new constitutional law.
The European Union has previously expressed concerns about LGBTQ+ rights in the country. Furthermore, restricting LGBTQ+ rights, could hinder potential accession to the European Union, something that the majority of the Georgian population, actually desires.
