This is the question I get asked alot.. which states need EOI only and which states need EOI and ROI?

EOI = Expression of interest
ROI = Registration of interest

This is for lodging an application to be invited for the 491 or 190 visa.

Well here are the answers….

1. NSW - EOI only. The state will pick their candidates based on their EOI. At the moment it looks like they are prioritising candidates with more work experience in their field.
2. VIC - EOI and ROI required. VIC prioritises candidates with higher salary and superior English.
3. WA - EOI only. WA prioritises candidates with occupations in the critical sector.
4. TAS - EOI and ROI required. TAS prioritises candidates who can claim gold or green attributes.
5. SA - EOI and ROI required. Strict working experience required to be invited.
6. QLD - EOI only. Applicants applying under the graduate and small business operator stream will need to complete a ROI.
7. NT - EOI and state nomination.
