Reggae Strong—Burning Spear

Winston Rodney, reggae's elder statesman, known throughout the world as, Burning Spear, is one of conscious reggae's preeminent Africentric artists, delivering his message of roots & culture since 1969. In this program Burning Spear is interviewed by journalist Ben Mapp, while mixing tracks at Sigma Sound Studio in NYC. Concert clips include original footage of "Marcus Garvey", shot on location at Kilimanjaro, NYC and video clips of "Jah No Dead", (from the film, "Rockers"), and clips from "Live in Paris". This is part one of a two-part program.
