Armed suspects shot dead a Durban North businessman at his business premises in Everest Road this afternoon.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said a resident who lives in the neighbourhood called Blue Security to respond to the incident earlier this evening at around 5.20pm.
“When our officer arrived at the scene we found that the business owner had been shot inside the business premises. He was in a critical condition when our officer arrived at the scene. It is alleged that three suspects arrived at the premises and asked for the business owner,” Mathios said.
“They were directed to where he was in the building and a scuffle broke out between the three suspects and the business owner. It is alleged that two shots were fired, one hitting the business man in the chest and the other in the head. Paramedics from Crisis Medical declared him dead at the scene,” Mathios said.
“Blue Security secured the crime scene where the Durban North SAPS are investing the shooting.” North Durban Victim Support attended the scene to assist the staff with crisis debriefing.
