Breaking News | West Bengal CM Mamata Assures MGNREGA Workers Of Dues Clearance By February 21

Breaking News: Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, declared on Saturday that the wages of 21 lakh workers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), which have been delayed for the last two years by the Central government, will be paid by the State government. "On February 21, their wages will be deposited into their bank accounts," Banerjee announced, speaking to the crowd from the location of a dharna she had organised to express her opposition to wage discrimination under the government's major employment programme.
