Led by Abraha from Yemen, the army marched with elephants to destroy the Ka‘bah in Makkah. The people were afraid. They had no weapons strong enough to stop such power.

But Abdul-Muttalib said with full trust:

“This House has a Lord who will protect it.”

And Allah did.

This historic event, known as the Year of the Elephant, is mentioned in the Qur’an in Surah Al-Fil — and it was the same year Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born in Mecca.
