Sogal is a place in Belagavi district, Karnataka, India. The name of the place is ascribed to a sage, Sugola Muni, who is believed to have lived in the area, but one inscription speaks of "Sovala." Located on a hillside, Sogal has many temples, including the Someshwara temple, and is of great antiquarian interest.
Other legends include a nearby Kalyanmantapa (temple), now renovated, where the marriage of Shiva and Parvati is said to have taken place. There is an old statue of Panchanana Shiva and Parvati, Shiva with basinga and other traditional ornaments.ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸೊಗಲ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವು ಒಂದು ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಸ್ಥಳ. ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ನಗರದಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು ೬೦ ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಮತ್ತು ಬೈಲಹೊಂಗಲ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ೧೬ ಕಿ.ಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಈ ಸ್ಥಳ ಸವದತ್ತಿ ತಾಲೂಕಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ತಾಲೂಕು ಕೇಂದ್ರದಿಂದ ೩೫ ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಅಂತರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಸೊಗಲ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವು ಹಲವಾರು ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾದುದು ಸೋಮೇಶ್ವರನ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ. ಎತ್ತರದ ಬಂಡೆಗಲ್ಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿರುವ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಕೂಟರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
