CAA was passed back in 2019 and has faced many backlash since then, the bill. The bill has been extended for 8 times now. Few weeks ago, Amit Shah, Home Minister declared that this is the law of the country and will be passed whatsoever. This law intends to ease the citizenship for migration applicants from Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist and Parsi faiths from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The law is being deemed as unconstitutional as it excludes the Muslims and some other minorities from the benefits of CAA.
