HISTORIC.... WELCOME TO THE CANTEEN - REVISITED...

As Master Winwood introduces Master Mason on stage, the Natives were already ecstatic, pillaging and scorching Earth... After his 6 brief appearances with Traffic in the early summer months of 1971, Master Mason returns for an ENCORE at the end of October 1971 about 90 days after the release of the official LIVE album...

We have ALL contemplated what was...? There could have never been a Traffic gig with only 6 tracks on the setlist, there MUST have been more... Many have perished searching for decades...:) yet still to no avail... However, I believe and hope that for the moment at least, I come to a close second with this very release... (while Research NEVER sleeps...)

The Masters try to re-create the Magic of Mr.Fantasy that they were able to capture on WTTC... As Master Capaldi utters those magic words around the 1.50 mark, both Axes take flight, yet again...
NOW, around the 3.50 mark, SOMETHING INSANE HAPPENS.... Master Mason interjects into the vocals, which Master Winwood takes notice of... this is very interesting to say the least... and requires scrutiny and investigation alone... Love to hear opinions on this...

As we know the original version has Master Mason on the initial solo at the right speaker and Master Winwood on the final solo at the left speaker... here, they are trying to emulate the original as closely as possible, with Master Mason helping out on the vocals towards the end...

As my subscribers know, Master Mason appeared at an ENCORE again on a 1972 gig which I have already published... He has also appeared at another ENCORE in 1973 which I am currently investigating and hoping to unearth in the near future...

There is one more track from this very gig which many of you can have a very educated guess on... which I plan to unleash as part of a TRIPLE release in a couple of weeks... stay tuned...
